EC will impose sanctions against 12 Belorussian officials

The European Union will impose sanctions against 12 citizens of Belarus, closely related to the Lukashenko regime. It is expected that this will happen at a meeting of the EU foreign ministers, which will be held on Friday in Brussels.

According to Radio Liberty, a source in diplomatic circles, these persons will be prohibited from entering the European Union countries, and their personal assets and assets of 29 companies associated with them will be frozen. The new list includes judges, prosecutors, businessmen. Earlier, the EU has already imposed sanctions against 230 Belarusian officials and three companies.

For his part, President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed on Wednesday in an interview with RT channel that there is a list of disorderly citizens in Belarus - it includes opposition politicians and activists. According to him, this list is the answer of Belarus to the sanctions of the European Union. Lukashenko accused the opposition of transferring the names of persons and the names of companies to the EU bodies, against which sanctions are then imposed.
