The Georgian border police released the Russian ship Pur-Navolok, detained on March 18 in the water area of ​​the resort of the Sarpi. Captain Sukhograza Yuri Danilov paid a fine of 50 thousand Lari (30 thousand dollars), after which the ship received the right to free swimming, RIA Novosti reports.

As reported, the Russian dry cargo was detained "for violations of the rules of navigation in the Georgian Marine Word." There were 10 people on the ship - all citizens of Russia.

According to the border police, "the dry load entered the territorial waters of Georgia from Turkey, did not respond to either a request from the Georgian borderpost, or a request from a departmental boat." Two border boats were sent to the ship, who took a dry cargo shipment, ITAR-TASS reports.

After the detention, the ship was reduced to the raid of the port of Batumi. The captain and crew members were not detained, they were on board the dry cargo and had the possibility of free movement. On March 20, according to the resolution of the investigative and operational department of the Second Batumsk Directorate (West) of the Main Investigation Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, a fine was imposed on the captain of the vessel Yuri Danilov.

Against the Russian, an administrative case was opened under the 58th article. By court decision, he paid a fine of 65 thousand Lari (about 40 thousand dollars) and another 605 Lari as compensation for the damage caused to nature. After paying the fine, the captain and the tanker received the right to freely move.

In February of the same year, Georgian border guards were fined for a similar offense of the captain of the Russian dry carrier Naruksovo Peter Ushakov. In his case, the fine was an order of magnitude less - only 5 thousand Lari (about 3 thousand euros).

In April 2010, the Russian Tanker Saratov City was detained in the Batumi water area for pollution, a year of the “V. Uspensky” ship , who was going to the Russian port of Azov, was accused of invasion of Georgian territorial waters a year earlier.

In total, over the past five years, the Georgian border service has identified more than 40 facts of pollution of the Black Sea of ​​the Black Sea by the courts, mainly foreign - Greek, Turkish and Ukrainian.
