The Italian Opera Diva of Chechilia Bartoli, the famous Metzzo-Soprano of the world, gave a concert in return for the canceled performance in October, presenting the Sacrificum program ("sacrifice" in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the Opera Singing Center Galina Vishnevskaya, organizing Moscow tour of the singers.
The program, created together with the conductor of Giovanni Antonini and the Il Giadino Armonico baroque orchestra, was to be performed in Moscow in October, but the concert was canceled due to the artist’s illness. Four months later, the singer nevertheless spoke in the capital, accompanied by the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, La Scintilla.
Sacrificum includes works created at the end of the 17th century for Neapolitan castrates - it was believed that no woman was able to compete with the famous singers Farinelli, Kaffarelli, Salimbeni at that time. Subsequently, these complex arias were forgotten, but Bartoli, known for her love for archival research, decided to resurrect them.
On Thursday, Bartoli performed in St. Petersburg, performing on the stage of the concert hall of the Mariinsky Aria Theater from operas Mozart and Rossini.
After Moscow, Chechilia Bartoli will go to Kazan, where he will perform on March 27.
