The Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs dropped the criminal case against the former head of the State Unitary Enterprise "Moscow Metro" Dmitry Gaev for abuse of power: experts considered it legal for Gaev to receive remuneration from the "underground" in the amount of 112 million rubles for his patents, the department told RIA Novosti.

“During the investigation, opinions of specialists in various fields of law were obtained, as a result it was established that Gaev had the right to act as a patent holder and enter into a license agreement, according to which 112 million rubles were paid as remuneration,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported...

The total volume of violations identified in the activities of the State Unitary Enterprise “Moscow Metro” from 2008 to 2010 amounted to 3.3 billion rubles .

The brilliant Russian inventor Gaev began his career as an instructor at the Sokolniki district committee of the CPSU, then graduated from the Higher Party School and worked at the Moscow City Party Committee, from where he was appointed deputy head of the metro. Luzhkov made him head of the Moscow metro. Over time, Gaev’s son headed the SITRONICS Smart Technologies company, which dad made a monopolist in the production of magnetic tickets in the metro, and his daughter headed the Annika Group company, to which dad gave exclusive rights to produce metro souvenir products. In 2005, after getting drunk in the first class cabin of an Aeroflot plane flying to Tokyo, the outstanding inventor Gaev attempted to open the emergency exit from the plane to “get some fresh air.” The inventor Gaev tried to strangle the flight attendant who prevented him from doing this (upon arrival in Tokyo, the conductor was taken to the hospital with asphyxia). After the opening of a criminal case last year into the misappropriation of 112 million that the inventor Gaev paid himself for patents (for comparison: the Nobel Prize is 42 million rubles), he hid abroad. Now he can return. True, not by Aeroflot; he is still on the black list there.
