In Moscow, arrests began at the Resurrection Gate, which leads to Red Square, RIA Novosti reports . According to the news agency, more than ten people were detained. At the same time, co-chairman of the Moscow branch of Solidarity Sergei Davidis reported that at least 30 people were detained.

Among those detained, according to eyewitnesses, are media workers, in particular correspondents from the Dozhd TV channel and the Vedomosti newspaper. According to Davidis, 19 people were taken to the Krasnoselsky police station.

Despite the arrests, the organizers of the action urge its participants not to disperse.

On April 1, a flash mob “White Square” was supposed to take place on the square: the organizers of the action called on people to come to the square with white ribbons. Red Square, however, was blocked off in advance. The FSB press service told Lente.ru that this territory is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Security Service of Russia. No official reason has been given for the closure of Red Square. Part of Manezhnaya Square was also blocked.

Last week, more than 30 people with white ribbons were also detained near Red Square. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Moscow then stated that the oppositionists wanted to hold an unauthorized rally.
