The opposition candidate, non-partisan Yevgeny Urlashov, won the mayoral election in Yaroslavl, preliminary data shows. Urlashov received almost 2.5 times more votes than United Russia businessman Yakov Yakushev, who has been acting head of the city for the last two weeks,

So, the government begins to lose local elections miserably. No administrative efforts, no appointment as acting mayor, no traditional pumping up of state employees helped the vertical candidate. Having lost by 1 to 3 votes, the party in power received a resounding slap in the face.

The “against” candidate managed to unite around himself at least some sane opposition and offer the townspeople an alternative. However, a trend! Of course, the authorities will now try to recruit Urlashov, intimidating and bribing, they still have a “knight on the head” in the form of frozen transfers from the budget and all kinds of blocking of funding for city problems, but this is unlikely to deceive the population, which has woken up and does not want to do anything anymore looks like he doesn’t notice the tricks of power and doesn’t understand them.

Tolyatti, Astrakhan (still under siege), Yaroslavl are only the first points of the front line in the direction of Moscow. The vertical is clearly losing its position, retreating, but still having reserves and snarling with all its propaganda weapons.

I congratulate the winner on his obvious victory and hope for his firmness and determination to start cleaning the stables and not pour his election slogans into the gutter.
