Medvedev: The G8 summit can go in Skolkovo

The Big Eight Summit, which Russia will take in 2014, can take place in the Innograd Skolkovo. According to RIA Novosti, President Dmitry Medvedev said this. “We need to present the best examples of what we have. I hope Skolkovo will be one of these samples. Work is quite actively going on. I think that the idea is not bad. And if the government as a whole has counted this idea and is ready to start its implementation, I think that you can move in this direction,” Medvedev said at a meeting with Vice -Prime Minister Vladislav Surkov.

In turn, Surkov said that the analysis of the "big eight" in Skolkovo has already been carried out. "The terms are quite compressed. We conducted an analysis on your order. I reported to the Prime Minister our thoughts on this topic. The task is difficult, tough terms, some additional expenses will be required," the deputy prime minister said. At the same time, he emphasized that if such a decision is made, then the G8 summit in Skolkovo can be implemented.

“In any case, we need to carry out a number of large forums:“ Twenty ” - in 2013 and“ Eight ”in 2014,” Medvedev said. He noted that he would give an order from the Moscow City Hall. "I had a preliminary conversation on this topic with the mayor. I think that they will also be actively connected to this process. I should get interesting," the head of state said.

As the Assistant President Arkady Dvorkovich said in mid -February, the Big Eight summit in 2014 will most likely take place in Moscow. According to him, this is most likely, but the final decision has not yet been made. At the same time, Dvorkovich, answering the question of exactly where such a serious event can take place in the capital, reminded of the expansion of Moscow.

The organizing committee to ensure the presidency of Russia in G8 in February was headed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. In this position, he replaced the assistant to President Sergei Prikhodko.
