The suicide bomber blew up the presidents of the Olympic Committee and the Football Federation Somali

A powerful explosion thundered in the newly open national theater in the capital of Somalia Mogadisho. At least seven people, many wounded, were killed, the Air Force reports.

It has already been confirmed that among the dead were the president of the country's Olympic Committee Aden Yabaro VIISh and the President of the Somali Football Federation Said Mohamed Nur, RIA Novosti reports. And among the wounded there are deputies of the parliament.

The attack occurred during the celebration on the occasion of the first anniversary of Somali television. The event was attended by the Prime Minister Somalia Abdiville Mohammed Ali. He said that the explosion was performed by a suicide bomber at the time of his speech, and expressed the opinion that the attack was arranged by the Islamist group Al-Shabaab.

At the same time, the Arab media report that the teenage girl committed the attack, but her age will not be sinking, Interfax reports.

A little later, the Al-Shabaab group confirmed its involvement in this crime. “We take responsibility for the explosion in the theater. Our goals were incorrect ministers and legislators, and they have become victims today,” the representative of Sheikh Abdiasis Abdu Musab told Reuters.

The National Theater was re -opened in Mogadishi on March 19 - after 20 years of the Civil War in the country. On that day, about a thousand people visited the theater premiere, held in an open arena built by Chinese workers, and among them - the country's president Sheikh Sharif Ahmed and Prime Minister Abdivili Mohamed Ali.

From the very beginning, residents of Mogadish believed that in conditions when Somali militants arrange terrorist attacks in cinemas and football matches, the opening of the theater, where a large number of people will gather, is untimely, AFP notes.

For many years, local clans and radical Islamist movements have been ruled in the south and northeast of Somalia, including the Islamist group "ASh-Shabaab", which has connections with the international terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.

In August, Ash Shabaab left Mogadisho quarters, but declared it a tactical step. At the end of February this year, during a football match in Mogadishchi, an explosion crashed, as a result of which three people were killed. In mid-March, the suicide bomber exploded at the house of the speaker of the parliament of the country, which is part of the complex of buildings of the Presidential Palace in Mogadisho. The responsibility for that terrorist attack also took Ash Shabaab.
