A private shot himself at a post in the Irkutsk region

The military investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the Irkutsk garrison is conducting an investigation into the death of private military unit 3466 Mikhail Rakovsky, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of the Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee.

According to preliminary data, the soldier shot himself with his AK-74 assault rifle while serving as a sentry guarding a particularly important facility.

“The other day, the body of M. Rakovsky was discovered on the territory of a protected facility with a gunshot wound to the head. He died from the injury he received at the scene,” the report says.

It is clarified that M. Rakovsky read books on psychology and memoirs of people who experienced clinical death.
