Reach the sky...

We recently read “Chelyabinsk Sports” for March 19th. Particular attention was drawn to the article “Results of the 2011 Sports Year”, which talks about the meeting of the board of the Ministry of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism of the region, dedicated to summing up the results of last year’s work. The meeting was chaired by Minister Yu. Serebrennikov, members of the board and heads of sports committees from different cities were present.

I would like to highlight several points in the report.

Firstly, many new sports schools have been opened in the region - in Chelyabinsk, Miass, as well as in poor cities - Kyshtym and Plast. Secondly, the number of coaches and sports facilities has increased, incl. The stadium in Kyshtym was put into operation. Thirdly, in the regional center itself there are 11 gyms, 2 ski resorts, 21 hockey courts, 3 football fields with artificial turf, and about 100 sports grounds. Fourthly, the board noted that, despite the measures taken, the level of physical education and sports does not yet fully meet modern requirements. Insufficient number of students... Due to the lack of control on the part of sports committees, a significant decrease in the number of students in the children's school was allowed . Among the settlements that suffered this misfortune is Zlatoust . Fifthly, it is recognized that funding for the physical education movement is uneven, but Zlatoust is not on the list of districts with low allocations of funds.

So we think, why is the funding for sports in Zlatoust decent, but sports are in such a deplorable state?

Regarding the decrease in the number of students in sports schools, the ministry does not yet have complete information. A children's hockey section exists on paper, but classes are not held there. Because our sports department deprived children of a gym at a sports school. So... hut to putter, kids go home. And this is about two hundred children.

But for just one such crime you can safely remove the head of the sports department. Only there is no one - everything is a share, apparently.
