On April 10, 2012, the first cosmocenter in Russia, where students and schoolchildren will be able to try themselves in the role of ship commander, sorcerer or specialist in the space industry, were solemnly opened at the Gagarin Cosmonets Center.
Specially created by the center of simulator , based on equipment used to prepare for work on the Russian ISS segment, the simulator of the Mir orbital complex and the virtual flight management center will better find out about the professions of the space industry and the achievements of the Russian and world manned cosmonautics.
The specialized simulator of the Soyuz TMA ship allows you to “carry out” the docking with the station in the automatic and manual regime, as well as many other operations that should be able to perform in real flight of astronauts.
A few minutes before the opening of the cosmocenter next to it, a presentation of the exhibition of children's drawings of the art school named after Alexei Leonova from the village of Tissm of the Kemerovo region.
The guests and authors of the work that took part in the exhibition were welcomed twice Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Dzhanibekov and Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Titov.
The red tape, opening the space center, was cut by representatives of three generations - cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov, chief of the CPC Sergey Krileyov and young participant in the program “United by Cosmos” Dima Kotov.
“During the year, the specialists of the Cosmonauts training center, together with like -minded people, carried out work to restore the simulator of the Mir station and the construction of the cosmocenter. During this time, a huge amount of work was completed, ”said Oleg Zakharov, head of the gym department of the cosmocenter.
Sergei Krikalev congratulated those present and recalled that in the year of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first flight of a person into space by the decision of the UN, Cosmonautics Day was recognized as an international day.
“In order for the astronautics to live and develop, we must make enormous efforts and attract our youth to the development of space. Without a young generation, without those people who come after us, subsequent steps on the way to the opening of the cosmos will be impossible, ”the head of the CPC said.
Future young listeners and guests was congratulated by the astronaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov. “Today is a personal big holiday for me,” he said.
On the basis of the Space Educational Center, classes will be held for both space specialties and space industry workers in order to improve the qualifications and development of horizons.
Cosmonauts and astronauts from the ISS-30/31 crew, which currently carries a watch on board the International Space Station, congratulated those present on the opening of the cosmocenter and expressed hope for “that, perhaps, a few years later the cadets of the space center will meet each other in orbit”.
At the end of the ceremony, the classes of the educational center were opened, and schoolchildren showed guests the actions of simulators in Real Madrid.
It should be noted that this is the only one of the few places in the world where a “simple” person can test real space simulators, the same as those on which astronauts train, as well as a unique virtual flight management center.
