The largest Russian film company, Central Partnership, begins showing films through the Cinecliq application on the social network Facebook, RIA Novosti reports .

It was previously reported that the Central Partnership films will appear on iTunes, and they have been available in the AppStore since December .

“We strive to make Russian cinema accessible to everyone, regardless of place of residence. Previously, the choice of viewers was limited by the taste of distributors, who selected films for release in their territories. Modern services allow us to provide people with the widest possible selection of Russian films - both our own production and films from other Russian producers that we distribute,” said the film company’s vice president for sales Armen Davityan .

The first films that will appear on the Facebook social network will be “Brownie” by Karen Oganesyan , “Wolfhound from the Gray Dogs” by Nikolai Lebedev , “Live and Remember” by Alexander Proshkin .

Facebook has been operating as a film distribution channel since last year.

So far, Russian films have not been able to achieve great success in traditional box office abroad. According to Film Business Today magazine, last year Russian films outside the CIS grossed $4.5 million, which is 40 times less than inside the country.
