
The laureate of the Poet Prize for 2012 was the Russian poet and prose writer Evgeny Rhine. The winners of the award are awarded a memorable diploma, a special breast mark and a reward of $ 50,000.
The Russian National Prize "Poet" was established in 2005 by the Society for the Promotion of Russian Poetry together with RAO "UES of Russia" and has been awarded annually since then. Only now living Russian -speaking poets can become the winners of the award. At the same time, nationality and place of residence do not matter.
The 76-year-old Rhine is currently teaching at the Department of Literary Creativity at the Gorky Literary Institute in Moscow. He is also the laureate of the Russian State Prize, the winner of the Pushkin Prize and the laureate of the Tsarskoye Selo Art Prize.
