
More than 300 billion rubles will be allocated to the new program for the development of the domestic satellite navigation system GLONASS from the federal budget until 2020, Interfax reports.
This was announced on Tuesday by Deputy Prime Minister Vladislav Surkov, speaking at the VI International Satellite Navigation Forum. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the money sent from the federal budget will become only part of the general financing of the program.
In early February of this year, it was reported that Roscosmos and the Ministry of Economic Development agreed on the draft federal target program (FCP) to popularize and support the global navigation system Glonass. The financing program was submitted for approval on January 28, and on February 9, the head of Roscosmos Vladimir Popovkin made a thematic report in the government.
Then it was clarified that for the implementation of spacecraft launching programs, 140.7 billion rubles will be required. In total, 146.898 billion rubles are planned to maintain a system in the program. The development of the system provides 138.258 billion rubles. Development means the completion of GLONASS-K flight tests, the manufacture and launch of two more satellites, as well as financing the creation of a Geo-IK military geodesical satellite since 2015 (3.97 billion rubles).
