Ugra will take part in the 2014 Olympic torch relay

The Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug will take part in the torch relay of the XXII Winter Olympic Games and XI Winter Paralympic Games, which will be held in Sochi in 2014. The acting governor of Ugra, Ilya Petrov, announced this at a meeting of the government of the autonomous region on Friday, the press service of the head of the region reports .

“Yugra will host the Olympic torch relay, in which 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation are participating,” said Ilya Petrov.

The main symbol of the games will be delivered to Khanty-Mansiysk and Nefteyugansk. According to plans, this will happen on November 5, 2013.
