Crimean mufti is outraged - priests sprinkle the Muslim children with holy water

The Mufti of the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Crimea (DUMK) Emirali Ablaev turned to the Crimean diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP) with an appeal to stop sprinkling with water of the children of Muslims in kindergartens and schools of the region and read prayers over them, Rosbalt reports.

In his appeal, Ablaev indicates that on January 19, the priest sprinkled, including Muslim children in kindergarten "Berezka" in the Kirovsky district, and on April 19 the same rite was committed against students of the school of 43 Simferopol, including Muslims.

"Christian ritual rituals were committed both over preschool children and the schoolchildren of non -Christian religion, whose parents express out indignation," the head of the DUMK notes.

"The Muslim religion of children and their families does not imply the commission of any Christian ritual rituals, chants, readings of psalms, prayers. The representative of each religious denomination of Crimea has the right to freedom of his religions from any impositions from neighboring faiths," writes Ablaev.

In addition, he states that the actions of Christian priests contradict a number of laws, including the Constitution.

"Everyone has the right to freedom of worldview and religion ... The church and religious organizations in Ukraine are separated from the state, and the school is from the church. No religion can be recognized as the state as mandatory," the head of the DUMK recalls.

Mufti asks the relevant ministry to conduct explanatory work with directors of kindergartens and schools, as well as priests of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese of the UOC MP.
