The power of power in Russia is measured in different ways. If we recall the tradition that is rooted in the state, we must talk about the number of dusty, strangled, quarter, sentenced to wheeled and chopping off the head, executed, turned into camp dust, exiled and expelled. So the power of the formidable king or the wise Secretary General was determined.

It happened differently. When the scale of voluntarist power was measured by hundreds of thousands of liberated and posthumously rehabilitated - as under Khrushchev. Or hundreds of political zones, whom Gorbachev released. Or even units, as under Yeltsin, when they pardoned the last prisoners of the communist era: undergraduated under the 64th article. These exceptions, confirming the rule, against the background of sad historical customs have always been perceived as a miracle.

In the same marvelous tradition, yesterday’s news should be considered: Medvedev freed Mokhnatkin.

I hear objections: what is amazing in that that the legally elected president of Russia freed some kind of convict? Moreover, according to numerous evidence, at all not guilty. In addition, a navigated in the camp, where he was sent to a punishment cell for a “incorrectly seasoned bed”, beaten, robbed, deprived of dates, even refused meetings with a lawyer. And how was it not to have mercy on Sergei Mokhnatkin if he, in full accordance with the wishes of the guarantor, wrote a request for pardon - unlike some other prisoners whose names are contained in the well -known "Nemtsov list"?

It's all about this very list. Of those who have been introduced into it, not a single person has yet come out. And it already seemed that no one would come out.

Therefore, we should talk about the miracle. Moreover, completely unprecedented, overshadowing the previous miracles. Khrushchev, Gorbachev, Yeltsin, or there, sovereign Alexander II, who freed the surviving Decembrists - all of them were kings, anointed on the power of the legitimate heavenly force or the Central Committee of the CPSU. And Dmitry Anatolyevich chose Vladimir Vladimirovich with the feasible participation of the so -called people. Maybe in this way, Medvedev deceived the vigilance of a senior tandem partner. Or maybe everything was honest, and the outgoing president simply persuaded the coming one: they say, freedom is better than not free, and not Khodorkovsky really release?

However, all this is not so important. It is important that a good person who stood up for a woman during a rally went free. It is important that a precedent was created: Mokhnatkin did not plead guilty in his mercy, and Medvedev still released him. And most importantly, now we finally received the answer to the question that tormented us for the past four years: why did Dmitry Anatolyevich come to power?

That is, of course, from the point of view of political, he then came to preserve the chair for the coming two terms of President Putin. But not all about politics to talk: politics is a dirty thing. In fact, Dmitry Medvedev came to free Sergei Mokhnatkin. And if we take into account the conditions in which he exercised his right to pardon, and recall the traditions, then the third president of Russia can be safely put on a par with the king-liberators: Alexander, Nikita, Mikhail and Boris.
