In the northwestern part of the Tver region, on the banks of the Mologa and Volchina rivers, our village of Maksatikha is located. For us, and we have 8,400 residents, there is no more comfortable and beautiful place. What could be better than living in a natural pine park? In 2012, Maksatikha will turn 457 years old.

There are many architectural monuments located in the area. Among them are the Church of All Saints (1827, Maksatikha), the Nikolo-Terebenskaya Hermitage (XVIII-XIX centuries, the village of Truzhenik) - an active convent, the active Church of All Who Sorrow (1828, the village of Seltsy), the Assumption Church (1876, the village of Kostretsy ), Church of the Nativity (1905, Klyuchevoe village). Eight kilometers from the village of Maksatikha on the banks of the Mologa there is the Rybinskoye estate, which was owned by the Bestuzhevs-Ryumins. Legend has it that here, on the estate of the father of an artillery officer, writer Alexander Fedoseevich Bestuzhev (1761-1810), the Decembrist brothers Bestuzhev spent their childhood: writer Alexander Alexandrovich Bestuzhev-Marlinsky (1797-1837) and writer, critic, inventor, artist Nikolai Alexandrovich Bestuzhev (1791-1855), who created a wonderful portrait gallery of the Decembrists. In 1896, from July 20 to 24, Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860-1907) lived near Maksatikha in the Tasino estate. The writer was visiting his close friend Alexei Sergeevich Suvorin (1834-1912), publicist and playwright, publisher of the newspaper “Novoye Vremya”. Before the trip, Chekhov wrote to him from Melikhovo: “Well, sir, I wish you all the best, more ruffs and less rain, which happens in the Tver province almost every day and is terribly boring.”
The Tasino estate was located near Rybinsk. The Nezhinskys, who owned a two-story house with forty rooms in Tasino, rented out one of its floors as a dacha. To date, the house has not been preserved, but the remains of artificially created ponds are still visible here, there are old trees, and until the 1970s there was still a wooden building of a folk theater opened by Tatyana Nezhinskaya.
N.S. lived in Maksatikh in 1909. Gumilev.
In 1896, a library was opened at the Maksatikha parochial school. In 1936, a local history museum appeared in Maksatikh.
In 2010, officially declared the year of the teacher, the grand opening of a new monument to teachers Pavel Pavlovich and Olga Nikolaevna Lugovoi, buried in the old Maksatikha cemetery, took place. The Lugovoys arrived in Maksatikha in 1928. Residents of the village did not know that the new mathematics teacher was from the noble family of von Dervizov, the former owner of three stud farms and several estates, vice-president of the Society for the Promotion of Horse Breeding, leader of the nobility of the Ryazan province, owner of houses and palaces in St. -Petersburg and Nice, one of the richest people in Tsarist Russia.
In our village there are 2 secondary schools, 5 kindergartens and one children's library, which opened in 1945. One and a half thousand readers, whose age is not limited, read, play, and explore the world. And although we have few famous writers and poets, we try to be talented readers.
