On Monday, the situation in the Tsagovsky forest near Moscow, which is cut down for the sake of building an access road from the M-5 Urals to the city of Zhukovsky, was again aggravated. Many even call the struggle for this forest the “second Khimki”, although the direct participants in the events say that in Zhukovsky events unfold much faster and tougher, “Echo of Moscow” reports.

The police detained two defenders of the forest - a young man and a girl who, with the help of a passenger car, tried to block the road to trucks, driving the soil from the construction site. Both were taken to the department and let go of six hours later. However, according to activists, the police beat the young man, and they were rude to the girl, not paying attention to the journalist's certificate presented by her.

The activist of the campaign in defense of the Tsagovsky forest told Interfax that the detention was carried out by police major Sergei Talyzin. He "beat the young man, shouted that he was attacking him, dragged him by the hair into the car, took away his mobile phone, not allowing anyone to inform anyone about what was happening," said the enemy of cutting down.

According to him, detaining the girl, another policeman pulled a passport and a mobile phone out of her hands. “She also presented them with a journalist’s certificate, but they did not respond to this in any way,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to him, young people are accused of disobedience to police officers (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), as well as in the application of violence against a representative of the authorities (Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Under this article, the Criminal Code can face up to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow Region, Yevgeny Gildeev, told the agency that the detainees were not residents of Zhukovsky, these activists arrived from Kolomna and Yekaterinburg. He claims that the police did not put on anyone.

On Sunday, work in the Tsagov forest was suspended due to the action of its defenders who reached the "subbotnik" . Then one person was detained. On Monday, work resumed, and residents of the city began to be pulled into the camp.

The conflict flared up on March 21 - it was then that the builders began cutting down, destroying 14 hectares of forest since then. This is necessary for the implementation of the city plan to build along the green zone of the Zhukovsky highway 1 km long, which will unload the city’s road network and ensure access to the territory of the Gromov Leah.

Residents of the city are opposed to this solution, since, in their opinion, this will not solve the transport problem, but will lead to the formation of large traffic jams.

On April 7, the townspeople organized a camp of the Zhukles forest defenders, and on April 21 they conducted a popular gathering against deforestation, after which 36 activists of 300 arrived were detained. The Tsagovsky forest received the status of a specially protected territory back in 1982. But in 2010, the local prosecutor protested this decision in court, and the status of the natural monument was shot, writes RBC Daily .

After the scandal with a cutting received a wide public outcry, the administration of Zhukovsky’s scientific and science, the administration of the near Moscow, promised to return the status of a specially protected natural territory to the Tsagov forest. Officials claim that they will need two to three months to return the status in 2010.
