British ambassador returned to Minsk

The Rosemary Thomas Ambassador to Belarus Rosemary, an ambassador of Great Britain, returned from the country at the beginning of this year. This was reported to Interfax at the British embassy.

“The ambassador returned to Minsk to continue work,” the diplomatic mission noted.

On February 28, the Belarusian authorities recommended leaving the country for consultations with their leadership the head of the EU representative office, Mira Mora and Polish Assistance to Lesheku Scherepka. This step was taken in response to the expansion of sanctions against Belarus by the EU.

The heads of diplomatic mission of the European Union showed solidarity with their colleagues and by the beginning of March left Minsk. Earlier, the EU Ambassador Mayra Mora, as well as diplomats from Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, France, the Czech Republic , Germany and Estonia, returned to Belarus.
