The editors received a letter signed by the director of the Scientific Center for Mental Health of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor A. S. Tiganov: “In the magazine Citizen K No. 3 (24) dated 03/05/2012, the interview “The Right to Recognition” was published. Ekaterina Men about attitudes towards autism in Russia.” In this regard, a group of parents of autistic children contacted the Federal State Budgetary Institution with a big request to comment on a number of issues covered in this publication. Please post our response to this post. Materials are attached."

The editorial staff carefully studied the attached materials (a five-page paper compiled by N.V. Simshkova, MD, PhD) and, unable to find in them any signs of a response to Ekaterina Men’s interview, were forced to seek help from a specialist - child psychiatrist Elisey Osin . He kindly interpreted the meaning of what was written for us.

We fulfill the request of Academician A.S. Tiganov and publish the materials he attached . As well as Dr. Osin’s comment , since we are sure that the reader will not be able to independently establish the connection between Ekaterina Men’s interview and the response to it from the Scientific Center for Mental Health of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
