Another problem was quickly resolved. According to RIA Novosti , two hundred and eighteen members of election commissions did not appear at polling stations on Sunday. As the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic Tigran Mukuchyan stated, "the chairmen of the election commission in the prescribed manner held new purposes, all the election committees are equipped."
Polling stations in Armenia opened from 8 in the morning. Each voter is awarded two ballots - for voting in a single -member majoritarian district and on a multi -party proportional electoral system, respectively.
The National Assembly includes 131 deputies. It is necessary to elect 41 parliamentarians in majority single -member constituencies and 90 parliamentarians according to a proportional multi -party electoral system.
Voting will last 12 hours. The electoral Code of Armenia obliges the Central Election Commission of the republic at least once every three hours to publish data on the activity of the electorate. For these purposes, a new information center is opened in the CEC, equipped with the latest technology.
The elections are monitored by observers from local public organizations and international organizations, including the OSCE. The CIS represent 173 observers.
