President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced that the ex-president of France Nicolas Sarkozy received from the former leader Libya Muammar Gaddafi $ 100 million for his first presidential election campaign.

“Muammar Gaddafi personally told me about this when he came to Minsk,” Lukashenko said, answering the questions of the Belarusian parliamentarians, without specifying exactly when it was. At the same time, he remarked, the media claimed that Sarkozy received 50 million euros from Gaddafi. But, according to Lukashenko, he "no longer wanted to intervene in the presidential campaign (in France), " Interfax reports.

According to his assumption, perhaps in this "sponsorship" is one of the causes of events in Libya. “Therefore, maybe Libya was killed, raped, and Kaddafi was destroyed, and now they are trying to destroy his family so that there are no traces left. Here is democracy,” Lukashenko said.

In his personal opinion, “Sarkozy had to be expelled two or three years ago,” when for the first time in the media there were references to his connections with Gaddafi.

Lukashenko added that he does not count on a cardinal change in relations with France in connection with the change of president in this country. “France is now busy with its own business. Well, Belarus! But I see that a person who has yet told the truth has come,” the Belarusian leader summed up.

Recall that for the first time the question of the participation of Tripoli in the financing of the 2007 electoral marathon was the focus of the media in March 2011. Then the son of Muammar Gaddafi, the safe of al-Islam, demanded that Sarkozy return the money provided to him by Libya to the election campaign. At the same time, he stated that Tripoli has all the necessary evidence, including bank accounts and documents for bank transfers.

In response, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of France, the former head of the Sarkozy campaign Claude Gean, said that Libya could not have such evidence.

But in March of this year, on the eve of the presidential election in France, the local Internet publication Mediapart published a document that refers to the transfer of 50 million euros for the needs of the presidential campaign of the sarcose.

The document dated 2006 is the signature of the former secretary of the Chief People's Committee on External Relations and International Cooperation (Foreign Minister) of Libya Musa Kusov. The text of the resolution indicates that the fundamental agreement with the French side on the financing of the campaign has been achieved. The interests of Sarkozy, approved in the document, were represented by the Franco-Liva businessman Ziyad Takeddin and the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic Bris Ortef.

In response, Sarkozi threatened to sue the Mediapart portal, which he called the "bench", and the document made by him - "a grandiose fake", "installation" and "meanness". At the same time, Sarkozy said that it was he who was the “motor” of the war in Libya and stood “at the head of the coalition that overthrew Gaddafi.”
