President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko asked a message to the people

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in a message to the people and the National Assembly, stated that the financial crisis that struck the country was caused, first of all, by external factors. Lukashenko said that now the country needs a "powerful and swift jerk forward."

Lukashenko was supposed to turn to compatriots with a message on April 19, but the performance was postponed. The project, prepared by state bodies, sent Lukashenko for revision, instructing the provisions regarding privatization issues and the foreign policy.

Lukashenko noted, in particular, the inadmissibility of an excessive liberal approach in the sale of state property, spoke out against tough response measures to problems arising in the relations of Belarus with other countries, Radio Liberty correspondent Igor Carnee.
