Udaltsov announced a dry hunger strike

The coordinator of the “Left Front” Sergey Udaltsov announced a dry hunger strike in protest against illegal detention. This was reported by lawyer Nikolai Polozov.

“Udaltsov is left to the Basmannaya ATS to the court, which will take place no earlier than May 10,” Polozov writes on his twitter. He also calls on citizens to come to the police department and support the opposition

Udaltsov was detained on Wednesday night, May 9, on the patriarchal ponds during a conversation with his supporters. The meeting took place as part of the "festivities". Udaltsova is charged with disobedience to the legal requirements of the police officer.

Blogger Alexei Navalny was also detained. He is held by police officers of the Strogino police department.

In total, about 200 people were detained, according to law enforcement agencies, on Wednesday and the night in the center of Moscow. Among the detainees are many journalists and chief editors of the capital's publications. OMON employees stopped the walks of citizens on China-Gorod, Chistoprudny Boulevard , Tverskaya Street, at the Nikitsky Gate and on Kudrinskaya Square. Most of the detainees were released after drawing up protocols, they say in the Moscow police. At the same time, no legislative and regulatory acts limiting walks with white ribbons have not yet been made public.
