Crack on the slope

The reason for the catastrophe of the Russian liner Sukhoi Superjet-100 on May 9 in Indonesia, which claimed the lives of 45 people, most likely, was a pilot mistake. This conclusion was reached by the experts of the Center for Preparation of the Air Personal in Zhukovsky near Moscow, simulating the last flight of the Sukhoi. Having decreased by an unacceptable high -end height of 1800 m, a liner at a speed of about 400 km/h crashed into a steep slope of the Salak Mountain (in the upper picture) near the Siapus River in the Province of West Java.

The disaster of “dry” is far from the first in this foggy and rainy area, it is not for nothing that local residents called it the “cemetery of aircraft”. Although Superjet 100 is equipped with the latest obstacle detection systems, the pilots who performed the demonstration flight could either turn it off, or simply not pay attention to alarming signals, as happened with the crew of the Air France Air Atlantic ocean in 2009.

A complete investigation of the causes of the tragedy in Indonesia may take at least 12 months.
