Two years of efforts to change the image of the Chelyabinsk region have finally come to a logical conclusion: since our governor (his family owns the Makfa holding) does not want to see himself as the head of a “steel foundry of Russia,” let it be “Chelyabinsk - the pasta capital of Russia”:

This useful information is immortalized in the newest guide “Chelyabinsk Region. Here dreams come true” (circulation of 13 thousand copies, including 3 thousand in English) and was carefully brought to the attention of participants and guests of the European Judo Championship, which was held in Chelyabinsk at the end of April. The design follows the best traditions of world publications of this kind - respect and respect to the designer Savva Mysov, aka cmapuk_kpynckuu . Well, and so as not to get up twice, there are millions of compliments to a whole cohort of eminent photographers and “consultants,” among whom are the highly respected authors of numerous articles on the history of their native land, Vladimir Steigonovich Bozhe and Gayaz Khamitovich Samigulov. The historical and local history part is excellent and very “tastefully” done, but some modern realities raise questions.
In addition to the already mentioned “pasta capital,” the hand of experienced censors and image makers from Zwilling, 27 is especially noticeable in the description of the Hall of Chamber and Organ Music. Actually, as it turns out, there is no organ hall in Chelyabinsk at the moment. It was, but it was: “ By decision of the city authorities, on September 12, 1986, the Hall of Chamber and Organ Music on Alom Pole was opened in the former church building. Only in 2010 the temple was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church ." That’s all the mention is in the section “Cultic architecture of Chelyabinsk”, in a lengthy article dedicated to the Alexander Nevsky Temple on the Aloe Field. Not a word about the unique sound of the instrument - the pride of the German company "Herman Oil", nor, even more so, about its long-suffering fate - with protests, public defamation of the defenders of the organ hall, the scandalous purchase of the ruins of the Rodina cinema for 50 million rubles for reconstruction for relocation organ (the hastily erected structure has already been nicknamed “sarcophagus” by Chelyabinsk residents). By the way, the organ hall is still located in the building of the former church and has not yet stopped performing concerts. But, probably, this information for judo fans from Europe was considered unnecessary, otherwise, God forbid, they would decide that in the pasta capital of Russia they are familiar with the traditions of European musical culture! They will then talk about this in their countries abroad...
In general, the favorable impression of Chelyabinsk, as the most modern and most cultural city of a million people, will certainly be spoiled by a small but truthful remark in the “City Transport” section: “ Public transport officially stops moving at 1 am, but after 11 pm it is difficult to wait for it "... Is this really a “black mark” for our main green road revolutionary, city manager S. Davydov?
Well, and of course, the most charming blunder is in the section with a description of traditional local souvenirs. It’s time for highbrow patriotic experts to stop arguing about what to put first: the Zlatoust engraving or the Kasli casting. The main Ural souvenir is vodka, and of a certain brand (not an advertisement for alcoholic beverages):

As they say, image is nothing, thirst is everything! For two years we “branded” everything - from the legends of the Verkhneuralsk prison to pipes and pasta - in order to create an attractive tourist image of the region and attract foreign investors, and as a result, we still offer vodka to these same foreign guests as souvenir No. 1.
The most respectable public certainly demands the author. If you please, we will talk about this in the second part, and at the same time about the closely related financial side of the issue.
