Fierce battles are underway in the Syrian city of Rastan

In Syria, in the city of Rastan there are fierce clashes between government troops and detachments of the armed opposition.

According to opposition activists, the losses of troops faithful to President Bashar Assad are 23 people killed and dozens of wounded. There is no confirmation of these information from other sources.

Earlier it was reported that as a result of the shelling of residential quarters of the Traman, 9 civilians were killed by government troops, about 40 were injured.

The European Union today announced the tightening of sanctions against the Syrian authorities. Details have not yet been reported.
