In mid-May, the “Night of Museums” event is traditionally held all over the world. Many of the museums are open until late in the evening, and some are open all night. In addition to simply getting to know the exhibits, interesting events take place: concerts, buffets, tea parties, interactive programs ...
This year, A3 Gallery prepared a special project by Vladimir and Maya Opara - “Avatars”. The program includes: Punk rock opera installation "Song of the Avatar", chronodynamic photo installation "My Friends Avatars", performance "Dance of the Avatars".

Punk rock opera installation “Song of Avatars”.
As expected in an opera, they sing in our punk rock opera installation. Avatars sing. They sing about what worries them. About the fact that votes were stolen, about the fact that everything is not legitimate, about the fact that the screws need to be tightened, about happiness, about the desire to be loved, about friends on a social network. Social network is something! This is an explosion of feelings and emotions, this is a vanity fair, this is a panopticon and hypocrisy and acting, this is a community of friends, imaginary and real. For our punk rock opera “Song of the Avatars,” professional performers, ARTFOR participants and we, the authors, sang. Our opera is an installation of objects, monitors, and computers. And souls.
Chronodynamic photo installation “My friends avatars”.
On social networks we hide behind our avatars. We represent ourselves through avatars. We can create an avatar for ourselves, we can borrow it from the Internet - there are millions of them. Choose. And now there are no more people, there are avatars and you are friends with them. Sometimes intersecting in real space. Sometimes you feel like the world around you is made up of avatars. On a social network you have friends - avatar friends. You “hang” and “float” in this sea of avatars. Among these small pictures, animations, videos. Where is the man? I would like to return a person to this stage of life. We were inspired by the idea of making photo portraits of our avatars' friends. See them, talk to them, arrange a photo shoot, create a touching image of a friend. We are passionate about creating a series of portraits. Portraits are moved onto canvases, connected to computer boards, appear before us in museum frames, turn into an installation, acquire museum quality, become part of the museum, become a new ark that has collected important and valuable things. During the exhibition, avatar friends complement the chronodynamic installation with their avatars, messages, and video interviews.
Performance "Dance of Avatars".
Dance is a kind of sacred action, it is a dance of life and death, it is a dance of phantoms. Moving through the space of night Moscow, avatar masks perform a mystical dance. During the performance, photo and video shooting is carried out. A series of night photographs of the performance and the film “Dance of the Avatars” will be presented at an exhibition that the authors plan to hold in Moscow and Germany.
