During the trial, she was clearly thinking about something extraneous, only occasionally scribbling something on a piece of paper."

And now Yulia Sazonova is an active participant in the protests, tweeting about police brutality and persecution of oppositionists. A good half of the capital’s political party is friends with her (in any case, no one seems to have turned away yet). And such metamorphoses happen to people!

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it’s good when people come over to our side. Just yesterday we discussed at the same “Barricade” that a split in the elites is a prerequisite for peaceful revolutions. My soul doesn’t crave revenge, I’m not a vindictive person at all: I wouldn’t even remember the judge’s name if she hadn’t said it herself. And in general, I believe that a person can change for the better.

But something is wrong here. Maybe it’s the slogan “We won’t forget, we won’t forgive,” which we often chant at rallies. Still, will we forgive or not? Is that all? Five days is not much, you can not attach importance to it. 5 days for 10 people is 50 days. This means that Judge Azarova, who closed Yashin yesterday for 10 days, will also need to be forgiven. And Kiryanen, who gave Navalny and Udaltsov 15 days each. And what about Judge Ivanov, who extended the arrest of Pussy Riot? And Danilkina? And the riot police who beat unarmed people with batons? And what about the “nashi” who organize provocations? And what about the employees of Center “E” who are fabricating criminal cases? And what about the chairmen of PECs who falsify elections? And what about the deputies of PZhiV who pass anti-people laws? And what about the officials cutting the budget? And what about journalists filming false reports? After all, sooner or later, almost all of them will go over to the side of the opposition (or pretend that they have gone over).

Don't get me wrong. I am not calling for a vendetta, “I don’t want to put my foot on anyone’s chest” and force them to repent. But it’s also impossible to turn the page, pretending that nothing happened. After all, it was. And it continues right now. Almost every day, judges consider the cases of oppositionists, police disperse protests, journalists are ordered to write black stuff... They all have a choice, but the majority prefers to play by the rules of the system, because it is profitable. Likewise, Sazonova played by the rules, using in return all the benefits of her “court” status (for example, the salary of a magistrate in Moscow, if I’m not mistaken, is about $3,000 and the most promising job prospects open up). Then, for some reason, she broke with this system - and did the right thing. Better late than never. But there are many lawyers who did not go to work in the courts from the very beginning because they did not want to become cogs in this machine. And there are - there are not many of them - those who, even within the system, tried not to commit evil (by the way, for the sake of fairness: at one time Sazonova acquitted the participants in the anti-conscription march).

Everyone is responsible for the decisions they make in their lives. And personally, I would like to hear from Yulia Sazonova an answer for her decisions. So far, the only thing I’ve heard is that she gave Kasparov 5 days because journalists were preventing her from concentrating . I cannot believe this absurdity, especially since there were no journalists at my meeting. You can say directly: they called from somewhere and threatened not to renew their powers. Or take away an apartment from an old mother. Or vice versa - they promised something. Or simply I was young and needed the money, I was a naive conformist, and now my eyes have been opened to a lot. Or perhaps she thinks she did everything right. Just let him tell the truth: how did this happen? Then you can turn the page.
