Opposition politicians have become disconnected from the people and that is why they did not understand President Vladimir Putin's decision to appoint the head of the Uralvagonzavod workshop, Igor Kholmanskikh, as the presidential envoy to the Urals Federal District, said the secretary of the presidium of the General Council of United Russia and vice-speaker of the State Duma, Sergei Neverov, on Saturday.

"All these gentlemen have been so far removed from the common people and life that they have even forgotten where they started - Nemtsov, from a position as a research assistant, almost immediately became a governor, his colleague Chubais came into politics as a lab assistant, Levichev worked as the director of a pioneer camp," the press service of United Russia quotes Neverov as saying.

“Of course, Nemtsov himself is overcome with anger that the president is putting forward people from the people, and moreover, from the workers, to leading positions in the state, while he and others like him would be glad to go, but no one is offering them,” Neverov added.

According to the United Russia member, the criticism of the Kholmanskikhs is not connected with his profession or biography. "It's just that those who are slandering the Kholmanskikhs have already shown what they are capable of, and people don't believe them," Neverov said.
