According to the American president, issues such as energy and food security, as well as the situation in Afghanistan, Iran, in the Middle East and North Africa, were discussed at the meeting. Particular attention was paid to the situation in Syria.

The final document of the summit calls for all conflicting parties to adhere to the obligations they have taken under the joint plan of the UN and the League of the Arab states.
