Medvedev: Igor Sechin will head Rosneft

Former Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin will become the chairman of the board of the Rosneft oil company, said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Now the head of the board of Rosneft is Eduard Khudainatov, who also holds the post of president of the company, reports the Bfm.ru business portal.

According to Medvedev, Sechin in Rosneft needs to pay special attention to working with foreign partners. The prime minister noted that recently a number of breakthrough projects with the participation of foreign investors have appeared.

Medvedev also said that the most important is the question of fuel prices and gasoline and other types of fuel generated by Rosneft. "I am waiting for coordinated work with the Government of the Russian Federation from you," said the Prime Minister, referring to Sichin.

The day before, the new Minister of Energy Alexander Novak told reporters that Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich would be responsible for the questions of the fuel and energy complex. Dvorkovich himself said that he would oversee the entire real sector of the economy.

Earlier, the press secretary of President Putin, the deputy head of the Kremlin administration, Dmitry Peskov, said that Igor Sechin, who had previously been supervised as Deputy Prime Minister of the TEC in the government, will be in demand in the future. “He cannot but have a role,” Peskov said, answering the question of journalists about the future of Sechin.
