As already reported in TrV-Nauka No. 5 (99) this year. [1], On February 24, the founding meeting of the interregional Society of Scientific Workers took place in Moscow. The founding process was continued in St. Petersburg, where on April 7 a regional branch of the Society (SPbO ONR) was created, and A.K. was elected to the Council. Belyaev, D.I. Dyakonov, A.A. Oskolsky and A.L. Fradkov.
On May 14 in Moscow, as was previously announced at the “Genesis of Russian Science” forum, at the Research Institute of Public Health and Health Management of the Moscow Medical Academy named after. THEM. Sechenov, an organizational meeting of the Moscow branch of the ONR was held, at which the Council of the Ministry of Defense of the ONR was elected, consisting of Yu.I. Ermolaeva, E.E. Onishchenko, B.E. Stern and three co-authors of this note, who are also co-chairs of the Council.
On May 15, responses were received from the Ministry of Education and Science and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research to the Appeal of 1,250 scientists to the Council of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, initiated, in particular, by members of the ONR, copies of which were sent to the Ministry of Education and Science, the Government of the Russian Federation and both chambers of the Federal Assembly (TrV-Nauka No. 8 (102) [2]). The answer is published on the new ONR website http://onr-russia.ru . We invite readers of TrV-Nauka to take part in the discussion of possible reactions of the scientific community to the response of the leadership of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Ministry to this Appeal.
You can read about the reaction to the creation of the ONR and its first steps, for example, in TrV-Nauka No. 7 (101) [3] and in the April issue of the “Scientific Community” [4], as well as directly on the forum mentioned above. At the same time, in particular, it was emphasized that the ONR could turn into a narrowly specialized organization if it limited itself only to the “internal” affairs of the scientific community. Attention has already been drawn to the need to expand the front of activity of scientists and scientific research workers in the current conditions, for example, in [3], [4] and in the speech of A.M. published in TrV-Nauka No. 8 (102) [5]. Vershik “Scientists must have a voice in society.” At the meeting on May 14, after organizational issues had been resolved, some of these problems were also discussed, along with some of the other pain points in the existence of Russian science.
