Tens of thousands of Montreal residents staged a rally against the law on demonstrations

Tens of thousands of Montreal residents took to the streets of the city to oppose the new law on rallies. The action takes place as part of a strike of students lasting 100 days, Toronto Star reports.

The organizers of the demonstration, nevertheless, followed the instructions of the law, which demanded from them to provide the authorities with the route of the procession. However, the participants in the action, ultimately, did not adhere to it - they divided into three columns that paralyzed the central part of the city.

At the same time, part of the protesters violated the agreed route inaccurately - in the crowd it was difficult for them to navigate and choose the right path.

The organization was engaged in the organization of not only students who initiated the protest movement, but also trade unions, as well as prominent representatives of the public. The action should last several days.

It should be noted that the law was adopted in response to mass shares of students who were outraged by raising training fees. It applies to meetings that more than 50 people come to and involves fines up to 125 thousand dollars for student associations.

Despite the fact that the new rules supported about half of the inhabitants of the city, their adoption caused a wave of indignation in society.
