The State Duma did pass a bill in the first reading to increase fines for violating the procedure for holding rallies to 1.5 million rubles. In turn, the “opposition” loyalists represented by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Liberal Democratic Party, who had previously promised no less than a demarche, refused to leave the meeting room, due to some “mitigating amendments”.
In my opinion, this scandalous bill is an extremely short-sighted act of the current government, demonstrating once again the nervous and inadequate reaction of the country’s top leadership to the internal political events in Russia in recent months and weeks.
Let's remember how skillfully those in power were able to “divorce” the oppositionists with the help of Byzantine deception and Machiavellian intrigues. On the eve of December 10 (the very likely day of the start of the revolution), the authorities effectively, simply by surgical intervention, managed to separate the revolutionary detonator - the National Bolsheviks - from the protest masses. And even, with the help of some liberal leaders, to set parts of the opposition against each other, and the dissatisfied poor majority of Russia against the capital's "creative class". Of course, the effect of such a “divorce” is temporary and not absolute.
But how inconsistent is the idea of a one and a half million fine for participating in an unauthorized rally after such sophisticated deceptions by the authorities? Moreover, people continue to take to the streets and squares to this day.
I believe that this law will not work (How many thousands of people will millions be confiscated?). If previously some citizens paid fines for the same article of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, now they will clearly no longer have such a desire. This idea, contrary to the expectations of the state leadership, will radicalize protest-minded citizens who will understand that the point of submitting notifications to those who want to essentially take away all your property has already been exhausted. The authorities themselves thus add fuel to the fire. And, thereby, inexorably shortens his political life.
In addition, there is another undoubted plus. The presumption of “opposition” of the main left systemic force - the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and the main systemic nationalist force - the Liberal Democratic Party, continues to melt before our eyes. The huge carcasses of these pseudo-oppositional brontosaurs will soon fall completely in the eyes of the people, opening the way for young and energetic forces. New radicals from the left and right will enter the arena of political struggle.
