The court of the Republic of Mari El sentenced a member of a criminal group who, under the guise of a girl, defrauded foreigners of money.

Leonid Kryuchkov was found guilty of fraud committed by an organized group and sentenced to seven years and six months in prison in a maximum security penal colony, Interfax reports, citing the Mari El prosecutor's office.

It was established that in May-June 2006, in a rented apartment, a man, acting under the leadership of the group’s organizers, deceived two US citizens via the Internet.
