Now many are trying to accuse the police of brutal treatment of protesters.
I spoke with officers from different departments of the Moscow police. This is what happened.
Moscow riot police
Many consider opposition rallies to be paid for from abroad. The visit of the oppositionists to the American Embassy was very helpful in convincing the authorities of this.
They are perplexed by the latest incident on Bolotnaya, when one employee was hit in the head with a stone. There are several “jocks” in the riot police who, they believe, are the coolest of all—they are athletes. When going to Bolotnaya, they simply did not take helmets. One of them got hit on the head. In fact, he needs to be punished for this, just like his commander, well, Mayor Sobyanin allocated him an apartment (in total they gave 4 apartments to the affected employees).
But in general, if stones, sticks, etc. are thrown at you, you “get wild” and want to respond in kind.
During the riots on Bolotnaya on May 6, a hyperactive oppositionist was dragged into a paddy wagon, hitting him with “lyula” along the way. Then they let me out - showed my employee ID...
They also brought a journalist into the paddy wagon. She had 1 degree disability. She felt sick in the car and the staff let her go. “Cyclops” immediately came running (special employees who have a camera on one eye - they write and report on the most active protesters) and began to find out why they were released. But the employees turned out to be normal - they said that they did not want to sit if the woman died.
By the way, everyone who is not too lazy is carried into paddy wagons: riot police, police officers, and employees of other services. Then 5-6 escorting riot police, who did not get out of the paddy wagon, take 20 detainees to the police department and write reports on them there. Question: what kind of objectivity can there be when indicating the reason for the detention? Complete falsification.
2nd operational police regiment
Most of the arrests are carried out by them. A lot of "crazy" ones. But, since they are in closer “contact” with the people, they know them better and believe less in being paid from behind the “hillock”.
Others (precinct, public education, teaching staff)
They are annoyed by the fact that they are removed from their “home” place, and even on a day off, and thrown to guard rallies, without being paid or given time off. This category of employees curses everyone and everything, including their management. They don’t care about being paid from abroad.
Attached forces (riot police from the regions)
We arrived, “warmed up”, received 15 thousand rubles and left. Moreover, there is information that upon arrival in Moscow (they travel in their own transport), the cars change their license plates to Moscow ones and are given a new title. Apparently, so that we don’t know where the “heroes” come from.
Everyone follows orders. Nobody wants bloodshed. They don't like provocateurs. We knew in advance that there would be fires on May 6, so fire extinguishers were provided. Question: why didn’t those who were supposed to fight extremism prevent it? Or didn't you want to?
If they order to take someone and take them “hard”, then they take them - the example of Navalny, Udaltsov.
The employee does not know why he was ordered to arrest someone - maybe this person did something not very good before. So it turns out that the commander gives you a command, you cannot at the moment assess its legality, you carry it out, and then you can be convicted. In fact, according to the law, upon arrest, an officer must introduce himself, state the reason for the arrest (unless, of course, the citizen has a weapon in his hands) and offer to follow him. This was not observed.
These are the points that deputies, heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and human rights activists need to pay attention to. I’m not talking about judges - it’s useless.
