Navalny was fined for walking on China-Gorod on May 8

The World Court of the Basmanny District of Moscow fined Alexei Navalny for a thousand rubles for violation of the procession, RIA Novosti reports. On the night of May 8, Navalny, together with Sergey Udaltsov, was detained on protest festivities at the monument to the heroes of Plevna in China-Gorod. According to the materials of the administrative case, Navalny was detained for participating in an unauthorized procession consisting of 170 participants from the Lubyansky passage to Maroseyka. He allegedly shouted slogans and insulted police officers.

The court rejected the defense of Navalny’s defense to maintain the minutes of the meeting, the call to the court and the survey of riot police officers who were detained, as well as watching the video with the moment of detention.

Navalny himself did not appear in court, his interests were represented by lawyer Vadim Kobzev. The defense proved that Navalny participated in a walk, and not in a pre -announced procession. Kobzev will appeal the decision of the peace court.

According to a similar episode of the detention on China-Gorod, on May 9, Navalny was accused of disobedience to the police and sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest.
