
The curator of the fifth Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, which will be held in the fall of 2013, was appointed by Katrin de Zeger, the invited curator of the New York Museum of Modern Art and the Tapiese Foundation in Barcelona, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the project.
The title theme of the Biennale, which by tradition, is invented by the curator, as well as other details about the future project, may become known in the fall when Catherine de Zeger visits Moscow.
She is also known for her work as an executive director and chief curator in the center of the drawing in New York and the exhibition director in the Ontario art gallery. In addition, de Zeger is the art director of the 2012 Sydney Biennale and the curator of the Australian pavilion at the 2013 Venice Art Biennale.
The rivals of De Zeger were five world -famous specialists, and her candidate on the recommendation of members of the expert council of the Moscow Biennale approved the Ministry of Culture.
The fifth Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art will be held in September-October 2013 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow. The commissar and artistic director of Biennale, as in the past years, is Joseph Bakstein.
