Major General Yakunin was appointed head of the Moscow police

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the appointment of Major General Anatoly Yakunin by the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow.

According to the Kremlin press service today, earlier Yakunin served as head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Novgorod region.

The former head of the Moscow police Vladimir Kolokoltsev in May was appointed Minister of the Interior.
