Mubarak was taken to jail

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, whom the court in Cairo today sentenced his life imprisonment on charges of killing demonstrators during mass anti -government speeches in February last year, was transferred to the Torah prison near the Egyptian capital.

The lawyers of the ex-president said they intend to appeal the verdict.

In addition to Mubarak, there were 7 more of the former high -ranking officials in the case. Of these, only the former Minister of Internal Affairs Khabib al-Adley was received by a prison sentence. The rest were recognized as innocent.

Judge Ahmed Rifaat justified the two sons of Mubarak, Alaa and Gamal, who were accused of corruption.

After the sentence was announced in the courtroom, brawls began. The supporters and opponents of Mubarak gathered on the street demand to recognize the sentence invalid and call for cleaning in the ranks of the judges.
