The representative of Nukem Technologies: Rosatom will soon become one of the main players in the world nuclear market

In Moscow, the IV International Forum "AtomExpo-2012" began work. The purpose of the forum is the development of international cooperation in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy and the promotion of the nuclear industry in the world general energy market. The organizer of the forum is the State Corporation "Rosatom". The AtomExpo forum is one of the central events of the world nuclear industry. The event has been successfully held for more than a year, attracting more and more attention from the global nuclear energy market. This year, more than 1300 delegates from Russian and foreign enterprises and industry organizations from 53 countries of the world take part in the forum. The number of representatives from countries that take the path of development of nuclear energy, compared to last year, has more than doubled. During the forum, it is planned to sign seven intergovernmental agreements and memorandums of understanding. On the opening day, June 4, a special event Wano (VAO NPP, the World Association of NPP operators) “Nuclear Energy after Fukushima - through the eyes of operators” was held.

I think that the AtomExpo forum is one of the main conference sites in Russia. For us, as for a German company, it is very important to participate in this event.

It seems to me that the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant was not very reflected in the speed of the development of atomic energy. Despite the fact that some countries, such as our country, Germany, decided to abandon atomic energy, the rest of the countries continue to develop a peaceful atom even after Fukushima. I am sure that atomic energy is still important, in addition, many companies spend additional funds to increase safety, so the nuclear industry continues to develop.

I am convinced that Russian atomic energy objects are quite competitive with other nuclear power plants around the world. Rosatom in the near future will become one of the main players in the global nuclear market. Obviously, he is interested in global development, in Western markets. And how much to us, as a company that is part of the State Corporation Rosatom, it is known that he is also interested in the purchase of some Western companies.

I think that even after the events at Fukushim, atomic generation power will grow, as the demand for electricity will grow, especially in developing countries.
