The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation can extend the working hours of federal subordination museums until nine in the evening so that working people can go to them, RIA Novosti reports with reference to an interview with the Minister of Culture of Vladimir Medinsky newspaper Moscow News .
"We are now looking at how to change the schedule - for example, enter an extra weekend, but at the same time make the museum for two days to work until nine in the evening," he said.
According to the Minister of Culture, the city dweller does not have many vacation options on a weekday.
“If we are talking about the“ angry townspeople, ”then how can he go to the museum, if at 18:00 he is already closed? At best, he will go to the cinema, in the worst - he will drink beer,” Medinsky noted.
The idea of the work of museums until late in the evening is not new: in particular, it is contained in the decree "On measures to implement state social policy", which President Vladimir Putin signed on his first working day after the inauguration. It also says that the museums of Moscow and St. Petersburg will begin to actively travel to the regions, work until late and create virtual branches on the network, and libraries will digest and put new items and rarities into the network until 2018.
Then the heads of leading museums in Russia told reporters that in order to extend the work of the museum in the evening, it is necessary to attract additional employees - caretakers and guards.
Accordingly, you need to revise the staffing table and increase the wage fund.
There are examples of how museums went towards their visitors and independently increased the working hours. So, due to its incredible popularity, the exhibition of the works of Salvador Dali in the PMM named after A.S. Pushkin worked for a month and a half before the closure of up to 21 hours, and now in the Tretyakov Gallery in connection with the great success of the project "Konstantin Korovin. Painting. Theater" resumed the action "Thursday of Late".
The action with the same name since January of this year is held every week in Moscow museums, which are subordinate to the capital's department of culture. Among them are the Moscow Museum, the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art, the Darwin Museum and others.
