As writes RosPila lawyer Konstantin Terekhov , “special forces with machine guns are standing near the building.” There has been no information yet about whether a search is being carried out inside. Terekhov emphasizes that investigators cannot search the premises in Navalny’s absence, “so Alexei can probably be brought to the office.”

Earlier on Monday, a search began at Navalny’s place of residence. His press secretary Anna Veduta reported that all electronic devices were confiscated from the apartment - “phones, iPads, computers.”

In addition, investigators conducted searches of Solidarity representative Ilya Yashin , Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov , TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak and other organizers of protests. Udaltsov told Interfax that the search at his home was completed (it lasted almost six hours). Investigators seized the computer system unit, CDs, flash cards, Left Front symbols and documents. A search was also carried out in the apartment of Udaltsov’s parents.

During a search of Sobchak, according to an Interfax source in law enforcement agencies, investigators found envelopes with foreign currency worth one and a half million euros. The agency's interlocutor did not rule out that the money would be confiscated.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation states that the searches of opposition leaders are taking place as part of a criminal case regarding mass riots at the Million March on May 6. Previously, Udaltsov and Navalny were questioned as witnesses in this case. To date, 12 people have been detained on suspicion of participation in the riots, three of them have been charged.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation ordered all oppositionists whose homes were being searched on Monday to appear before investigators on June 12. On the same day, the opposition will hold another “March of Millions” - a coordinated procession will take place along the boulevards from Pushkinskaya Square to Sakharov Avenue. Udaltsov suggested that the authorities deliberately chose this date to prevent protest leaders from attending the event.

“In connection with mass detentions, arrests and searches,” Udaltsov also proposed starting an open-ended action near the building of the Investigative Committee on the evening of June 12.
