Photo: ITAR-TASSThe World Blood Donor Day is celebrated annually on June 14 in honor of those people who donate their blood and thereby give thousands of patients a chance of recovery. Publicpost talked with donors and found out why they voluntarily part with their blood.

Maria Gurkina, the administrator of the group on the VKontakte website on donation at the Federal Center for Children's Hematology, Oncology and Immunology named after Dmitry Rogachev
Since 2008, I have been engaged in volunteer work in the RDKB (Russian Children's Clinical Hospital - PP), in 2010 I got to the Life Foundation. So the topic of donation was close to me. I saw with my own eyes how much the children needed blood. I was all the time to surrender it, but either a runny nose was, then a cold, then I lay down late. In general, hands did not reach in any way. In September 2010, I read in the status of one girlfriend that they are looking for people who are interested in social projects. At first it was hard, since I did not know all the subtleties, but over time I began to understand. Now I know not only the majority of contraindications, but I can also explain why they are and what changes in the blood they led to. After a couple of weeks of leading the group, I decided that here it is, a push, which we often lack for action. I persuaded a friend and we went to donate blood. I did not have to choose a blood transfusion station for a long time. Let's go to the already familiar RDKB. When I was sitting in a chair, there was only one thought: "If only now they told me that I should not donate blood." But then she pulled themselves together, because children who so needed blood components so much more severe pain tolerate every day. And that small that I can do is only tolerate a little.
When donating blood for me, the worst thing is the introduction of a needle into Vienna, since I have been afraid of injections since childhood. And then you just sit in your chair: you watch TV or listen to music.
After blood donation or its components, I usually feel a surge of strength, I can at least turn the mountains. But well -being depends on the individual characteristics of the body. Someone becomes uneasy.
Gratuitous donors pay compensation for food in the amount of 975 rubles and give 2 ruins: one per day of blood donation, and the other can be used on any other day during the year. But, as a rule, in a commercial company, such fuses do not have such force. Before donating blood, the donors are mandatory for a blood test and undergo an examination by a doctor. This procedure takes no more than 10 minutes.
In my opinion, the surrender motive is not important (helping to the neighbor, money, rabs or just for the company). After all, it will not get worse from this, and, perhaps, for someone it is this portion of blood or its components that will become saving. There is nothing terrible in donating blood, but after the first surrender you understand that someone has just given someone a chance for recovery. Subsequent surrenders become in the order of things, you are already going on them, as for a regular appointment with a doctor.
Evgenia Marchenko, applicant, today for the first time donated blood
I always try to help people, and indeed the world, so to speak. Now I can give blood for those who need it. Moreover, I have a rare 4th blood type. The delivery center found at the address that was on the site "I am a donor" . There must be a passport and a conclusion about fluorography with you. It was a little sick when the needle was introduced, and so - everything is usually. They paid 200 rubles - this is as if for lunch. Anyway, I donated blood not for the sake of money. I want to advise people not to be afraid. Today I was stubborn - I had a misunderstanding, there was not enough 1 kg, but I just begged them to take blood!
Evgenia Usoeva, nurse of blood transfusion in the RDKB
I work with a nurse in a children's clinical hospital. People are completely different to donate blood to us, but most often these are positively tuned youth aged 18 to 35, who does it free of charge. The older generation usually passes for money, young animals rarely do this. Now there are a lot of donors that cannot but rejoice, and therefore there is no lack of blood. There is a need for a particular group. In such cases, we have a database from which we choose the right person and call him with a request to donate blood for us. Often the so -called "donor Saturdays" are held: for one such day, up to 90 people can come to us. Often there are initiative groups from institutes and other institutions, but usually people come on their own. Sites of charitable organizations, including the Foundation "Give Life", distribute information on their sites. In our federal hospital, blood is consumed very quickly. There are a number of restrictions on blood donation: for example, for people whose weight is less than 50 kg. In addition, it is impossible to donate blood to people with chronic diseases and in old age. There is an unusual restriction for those who made tattoos or piercing: they can donate blood only a year after they did this or the other.
Elena Karabtsova, director of the exhibition "Muscovites - a healthy lifestyle", an honorary donor of Russia
It was still in distant youth. The girls at that time went to donate blood for the idea, it was important for us. We understood that we were saving lives to people. I then worked at the radio factory, and we were very widely propagated by donation. Once early in the morning I was driving once again to donate blood. A minibus with doctors rode right in front of us. The accident happened - KamAZ crashed into this minibus, several people died, and one doctor was brought to the hospital at death. He had a very rare blood type, 4th. And I also have the 4th. This doctor died, and I, by irony, came to donate blood with the same blood group. They made a direct transfusion - and the doctor survived ... And after a few years this doctor had already done an operation to me, also donated blood for me - and saved life. It was a cesarean, then my daughter was born. It turns out that I saved his life, and after a few years he saves my life. This, as they say, fate is that he was the doctor on duty then. So such things are done for sure not in vain. You help someone, and then it will return to you. Here is such a case from life.
Olga Petrova, volunteer "Red Cross"
In 2005, I donated blood in the south of India. There at that time she was very missing. I worked in the Red Cross and, in total, donated blood 4 times in 2 months. In the Red Cross, she did it twice, the rest - in other organizations. In general, this is very harmful, since it is usually recommended to donate blood no more than once a month. I did this to lose weight: I refused to eat after the procedure, although eating is strongly recommended in such cases. Because of this, every time she fainted, in addition, the heat affected. In Russia, blood has never donated blood. The procedure is quite simple: you come, take tests for the presence of infectious diseases (a kind of express text), then you go to bed. The nurse pumps about 300 ml of blood.
