Broadcasting will take place only on the Internet, journalists and public figures are gathering to work on the channel who are disagreed with the point of view that state TV presents. According to Dmitry Gudkov, a State Duma deputy from Fair Russia, Ksenia Sobchak, Alexei Navalny and some famous journalists are ready to start work.
Pilot gear will appear on the network in September. If viewers like it, they will be invited to pay for content. The estimated channel budget is 100 million rubles per month. Gudkov believes that there are 1 million people in Russia who will want to pay 100 rubles to see and hear the point of view of the opposition.
"The bet will be made on high quality content and pictures - the only way you can win the sympathies of citizens on which financing of the project will depend. They will be able to choose the subject, vote for the leading and authors of the programs," Gudkov said .
PublicPost talked about the prospects of a new project with experts in the field of television journalism.

"If we are talking about the Internet, for me this is not a TV channel"
I think the more different sources of information, the better. I hope that this will be an information channel, and not another channel, the purpose of which is to spread the opinions of some people. In this case, you get an analogue of the state channel, just with another sign. I would like to have more channels where every journalist does not consider it important to express his opinion, but considers it important to give the viewer as many versatile, objective information, devoid of personal addictions of the one who speaks from the screen.
I have doubts about the professional level of those who work there, as well as about the content of information that will be submitted on this channel. The channel should not be purely political. But, nevertheless, I support the idea, let them try.
The fact that there are people who are ready to pay 100 rubles a month for it - there is no doubt about it. Ideally, this is what: people will first pay this money, if they do not like what they will see, this will end.
In any case, we are talking about the Internet - for me this is not a TV channel. For me, this is something else. But if they want to create, then for health.
The Rain TV channel is not an Internet channel, but a real one. "Rain" is still a channel of niche, despite the fact that it illuminates a variety of topics. But the number of people who watch it is much less than those who watch federal channels.

"This television channel will help determine the situation in the country better than any hundred -polling"
Any television channel, no matter what political platform he adheres to, will work according to the laws of television. This will require attracting a wide variety of means, including advertising. It is unlikely that only a purely political discussion will be interested in people, now without such a channel there are quite different sources of information that bring information that is different from the one that state channels bring.
My experience suggests that the channel is a very expensive product. This project will be a measurement of the situation in society. You need to see what will happen if the audience offers to pay a subscription fee and refuse advertising that annoys everyone. Do you think that the leaders of the TV channels do not want this? Not at all, the audience does not want it. People do not want to pay for television, which they consider an affordable product.
If this channel can collect a sufficient amount of money, it will be clear what the real situation is in the country. I think that this project will be a good determinant - even better than any sociological survey.
I believe that it is not worth considering the opposition television channel as an alterandivist in public television, which was once proposed by President Medvedev. This is some kind of non-Bolshevism. People should have a variety of sources of information.
Look at the whole range of Russian television - from Channel One to the Rain TV channel, look at the full range of Russian broadcasting - from Radio of Russia to Echo of Moscow. After all, the spectrum is quite wide, it just depends on the degree of prevalence and on the needs of society.
When the media is created, one should not think that it will be an alternative to something. It is necessary to avoid the approach to "do something against something." An interesting media must be made. And this is not so simple. I wish everyone good luck.

"If the situation in the country is hot and funny, then there will be people who will support this project"
The more television channels, the better. Let it be only on the network - then, maybe, it will be spinning and will go further.
Honestly, I doubt about 1 million people who will pay money for this. We have a jerky people. It depends on the political situation in the country. If it is hot and funny, then there will be people who support this project. If the situation is tough, then people are scared. Our people are not only jerky, but also timid. Those who have money are frightened. They will be afraid that they will be caught by the hand and ask who they subsidize. The fate of Mikhail Borisovich Khodorkovsky is before his eyes. Therefore, you can’t vouch for anything here. The attempt itself is a good thing.
If this television channel appears, it will be independent of the state, but completely independent things from everything simply do not happen. We all depend on someone-on public opinion, on close and relatives, on its reference group ... This channel will depend on those who pay money for it. But this is a normal dependence that will not bind the hands, on the contrary, will ensure freedom. Otherwise, people will not pay money.
I really like the rain, it behaves very relaxed. I don't know how much it will last. I hope it will last longer.
