The name Gutiatics can literally be translated as "Gutiev’s village." The village is the first, after entering the Hilaki Gorge. In order to get into the gorge itself, you need to get a special pass for access to the border zone. But it's worth it.
Gutiatics refers to those villages in which representatives of only one surname lived. By family traditions, the base of the village dates back to about the 16th century and initially it was located on the other side of the river. Only a century later, the surname, which was no longer placed in the old place, founded the village that has reached this day.
Gutiatikau is a small village. In the best years, 20 yards of the Gutiev family lived there. But gradually the surname expanded, and rather harsh living conditions forced people to leave these places. At first, several families settled in Harisjin, then a few more left for Dzivgis. By 1909, out of 20 courtyards, only 13 remained. And in less than 20 years, in 1924, the last resident evicted from Gutiamau. His name was Murat and he was from his family about 7 years old. Despite his young age, he still remembers how they left the village on carts with the whole belongings. Yes, yes, he is still alive, this last resident of Gutiamau. And I will definitely tell you about him.
You can get to the village itself only by moving the river for the wbrin, or by driving on and crossing the bridge, they will return along a narrow path above the river. We need to go about a kilometer, in places on a “rash”, but on this path the traveler awaits surprises like ice mountain streams that must be crossed again. Like any other abandoned village, the appearance of Gutiatics is deceiving. Where we see a green meadow around the old towers, which, by the way, are three, in fact there is grass waist, if not higher than human height. So a lot of effort goes simply to the war with this grass, which, upon closer examination, turns out to be a banal nettle and hogweed. The bites, I must say, noted. But what kind of surname once lived in this distant gorge?
Gutievs - the surname is remarkable. Leaving such a small village, they settled around Ossetia, and now there are about 120 families. There was this surname respected in Ossetia, and among the Gutiev there were many officers who took part in almost all wars that were only.
So, for example, in the war with Turkey, the heroism of Budzi Gutiev, the son of the ensign Astemir Gutiev, was distinguished by the heroism of Budzi. Several representatives of the Gutiev clan participated in the First World War. For example, Akhtemir Gutiev returned from the war to the full Georgievsky Kavawyv and in the rank of colonel, and the Gutiev received 2 St. George Cross and the rank of officer.
But the most famous Gutiev was, of course, Mysyrby (Misost) Gutiev. Myasyrbi Gutiev was born in 1830 in the village of Kharisjin. After studying, he began his service in the Caucasian mountain horse division. Then in the Terek permanent police. In 1865, the Government of the Terek region assigned to Myrysby the obligation to support a group of refugees - immigrants from Chechnya to Turkey. On June 11, 1865, Myrysby accompanied the two groups of refugees with all property in the amount of 219 families, 319 wagons, 220 horses and 532 cattle heads. Just as one of the most honorable representatives of the Ossetians of Myysyrbi Gutiev, together with Levan Khetagurov, was appointed responsible for the resettlement of landless Ossetians in the lands provided by the state in the Kuban region. Myasyrbi Gutiev participated in the Hungarian company of 1849, in the Caucasus War of 1853-1857, in the conquest of Chechnya and Dagestan 1857-1859, as well as in the war against Turkey 1877-1878. Everywhere he fought courageously and received the following awards: the Order of Courage, the Order of St. Anna 4 degrees. The Order of St. Stanislav 3 degrees, gold and silver medals "For fidelity", silver medals for the conquest of Chechnya and Dagestan, a bronze medal for the war with Turkey, the cross "for service in the Caucasus." In addition, he received the rank of ensign.
We went to Gutiatics with representatives of the surname to look at their family village, feel these stones, read the inscriptions on tombstones. They thought about their own, we are about our own. Young guys from the Gutiev surname are very seriously configured to restore towers and at home in this village. So far, they probably still do not fully understand why they need it. They just feel what they need. Or maybe it's just the time. Return time.
