The Sverdlovsk Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Justice requested documents from the City Without Drugs Foundation. this The head of the fund, Evgeniy Roizman, announced in his blog on June 26.

The official justification for the request was the prosecutor's investigation into the death of the foundation's patient, Tatyana Kazantseva, who died of meningitis on June 17 in the Berezovsky city hospital. However, as Roizman notes, among the requested documents there is nothing that would be related to Kazantseva. The list of 43 items mentions, in particular, the correspondence of “Drug-Free City” with legal entities and individuals, a sample emblem, employment contracts, contracts for the provision of communication services and for the rental of property.

As Roizman put it, the required documents will take at least two Gazelles. In his opinion, the prosecutor’s office and the Ministry of Justice want to legally liquidate the “City Without Drugs”, since the fund is engaged in helping orphans and disabled children, and this is not stated in the organization’s charter.

On June 19, searches were carried out at the foundation’s premises in connection with Kazantseva’s death. Shortly after this, the women's rehabilitation center had to be disbanded . 50 people were treated there. Three days later, 12 of them returned to the center.

At the same time, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region stated that in the “City without Drugs” they are not conducting searches, but “routine verification activities.”

On June 25, a criminal case was opened against the fund for illegally detaining a patient (Part 1 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The name of the former patient on whose complaint the case was initiated has not been reported.
