The ATR-42 aircraft of UTair airlines, operating the Tyumen-Surgut flight, returned to Roshchino airport on Thursday evening after takeoff, a representative of the press service of the Ural Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation told the Interfax-Ural agency on Friday.
“The reason is technical problems. The plane’s landing gear did not work, and the crew commander decided to return to the airport,” he said.
He also noted that none of the passengers or crew members were injured.
“This is not an air accident, so there are no grounds for verification,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.
This week this is the second incident with UTair ATR-42 aircraft in Tyumen. On Monday, June 25, the plane was unable to fly to Nizhnevartovsk due to an engine problem. According to preliminary data, the cause of this flight incident was the failure of the left engine to take off. As a result of the incident, none of the 43 passengers and 3 crew members were injured.
